2023 SEASON
Derek Jones and Mark Pombo have been racing with and against each other since the VW TDI Cup back in 2008. This includes numerous factory efforts including Mazda, Nissan, Kia and MINI. For the 2023 season they have taken the leap to have more control over their program and focus on what made them successful in the beginning; close competition and new cars to develop & set-up in the Toyota GR Cup. The GR86 Cup is Toyota’s all-new single make race series, and the manufacturer is putting big dollars behind their marketing campaign to reach grass roots car enthusiasts in Americas. The GR86 cup has the largest SportsCar race purses in this hemisphere, and the 14 events will be held at 7 prestigious circuits across the United States where race fans will get to experience Toyota’s unmatched passion for motor racing and car culture. DEREK JONES
Philadelphia based race driver, entrepreneur, stunt driver, car collector.
Derek Jones is a Philadelphia based race driver. Derek has raced cars ranging from Vintage Formula One to modern Prototypes and GT Cars, winning on all fronts. Derek also is a business owner, SAG accredited stunt driver, father and husband.
Mark POMBO
Atlanta based 2nd Generation race driver.
Mark Pombo was born into racing with his father Pepe Pombo a National Champion of the 90s. Mark continued in the family footsteps, racing with his brother Mathew and winning in everything they stepped into. Mark has been a factory driver for Kia, Mazda and MINI, along with many one-off rides along the way. Mark also is a proud ARMY Veteran who returned to racing after combat duty. Outside of racing and the Army, he has a Masters in Accounting, owns several businesses, is a SAG accredited stunt driver, father and husband.
